Rainy Days

We've had a busy week her at the farm! We walked to a nearby park and played on the swings and jungle gym on Monday, Tuesday we did errands and the library, yesterday we went to the mall with my mom (it was duper rainy and yucky outside) and today, well today I'm getting some mama time alone. Let's hear it: ahhhhhh! What to do?!?! So little time! I almost feel panicked trying to decide what to do when I find myself without small children around. Do I relax? I never get a break until they are in bed usually. Do I do errands? That's boring. Clean? Ick. Call a friend? They're all working. Hmmm...probably a little bit of everything. I need to stop at dry cleaners. Have to drop off donation bag at SA. I have tons of books to read. I see a coffee shop on my future too!

Our vacation is in a few weeks! Yay! I'll need to start packing next weekend.

It's rainy again today. A day to play inside I guess. Alright, only a minute left until Piper wakes up from her morning snooze.

And so it goes...

Well the Super Duper Skeepover was a success. We all had a great time. Ruby and Poppi made (two!!) Pineapple Upside Down cakes, the girls both played Nonni's piano (or pinano, as Ruby calls it), and there was a lot of tractor riding in the driveway. Pizza for dinner. Fun!

Piper had her 15 month ped appt today. She's 30" tall and weighs 21.3lbs. A growing girl for sure. She also got two shots but true to her past behavior she only let out one meek cry after the second shot. Ruby held her hand. Those girls.

Ruby has a bit of an upset tummy this afternoon though. We actually dashed out of the bookstore in Stuyvesant Plaza to get to the nearest bathroom but , well, let's just say there was a small accident and a certain pair of 3t undies ended up in the trash. Oops. Unfortunately, Ruby's tummy wasn't done being upset and we've been dealing with that all afternoon now. She's been bathed and scrubbed. Motherhood. Glorious. ;)

My fantastic new clothes were much appreciated yesterday. Zappa and Piperlime are my new bffs! I had fun trying things on and packing up what didn't flatter. I did keep a handful of cute shirts though and a few pants. I'm actually excited to get dressed in the morning again. Wow what a boost. And I packed away my not-quite-maternity-but-still-larger-sized clothes today too. A few shirts I wore in the months after Piper was born that were loose and comfy for  ease of breastfeeding. She only nurses at night now so those tents could go! We are discussing if/when to have future children so until we decide I'll save the few things I love and were helpful. Still made me teary though...

So it's nap time again which I can plainly see is my only real opportunity to write. So write I have. Just a few thoughts to remember...

Until next week-

Day One...

Ruby is settled in on the couch watching Thomas the Train and Piper is asleep on my lap in the bedroom. It's 10:18am on a Thursday. Ahhhh...this is the life! Our lives have been so full lately that these small breaks maintain our sanity. Ruby is going going from the second she wakes up. And why shouldn't she? She's 3 and a half. And Piper, sheesh, the day she sleeps through the night uninterrupted will be a day to celebrate for sure!!! We are just so darn tired!

Anyway, we are off to a Super Duper Sleepover tonight at Nonni and Poppi's house. It's always so fun. The girls love to explore and play and they eat up the love from the grandparents. It's nice to have a break too, from the routine. So some lunch and a quick few errands and we're off!!!

I'm waiting on the UPS truck today too. Some clothes I ordered from Zappos and Piperlime are coming. I'm way too excited. I donated a ton of stuff that no longer fits post- kids and it was doing nothing for my self confidence just hanging unworn in my closet. Out it goes. No time for that.

Well, I'm not sure what I want to do with this blog yet. But I'm thinking it's a good way to chronicle our lives. Should I share it with family? Friends? Not sure. I guess we'll see where it goes...

Bye for now-
Jen
